Dr. Kauffman's early memories of doctors came as being a frequent ER patient as an active young boy with the typical broken bones and lacerations. During one visit, a medical student told stories of medical school, his professional training and career aspirations. Dr. Kauffman was impressed by what this young medical student did for him and by high school was excelling in school so he decided to become a doctor himself.

Dr. Kauffman is a skilled cardiologist known for his expertise in general cardiology, echocardiology and nuclear cardiology. His special interests are general cardiology consultation, cholesterol disorders, hypertension, coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure and heart valve disease.

He plays tennis and devotes time to fitness including aerobic exercise and strength training. He especially enjoys family time with his wife and three sons.
