Dr. Christopher Shen's volunteer work on a medical mission in El Salvador and his vision research at St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital convinced him that medicine was to be his calling. Originally from Knoxville, TN, Dr. Shen completed his undergraduate studies in biomedical engineering and mathematics, graduating summa cum laude from Vanderbilt University. After working as a biomedical engineer at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Dr. Shen completed his medical degree at the University of Tennessee. 

Selected to train at the prestigious Devers Eye Institute and Casey Eye Institute in Portland, OR, his fellowship in Glaucoma and his years of experience working with challenging glaucoma cases makes him one of the leading glaucoma specialists in our region. He is also skilled and has special interest in cataracts and pterygium.

His patients see him as a caring, sincere, thorough and honest physician who takes the time to help them understand their medical conditions. He enjoys getting to know his patients and their families and gets great satisfaction from helping improve the quality of life of his patients through vision restoration and preservation.

Dr. Shen loves photography and cooking and spends his free time biking and playing tennis.
