Dr. Elbert was born in upstate New York but moved to Virginia when she was five years old and grew up in Burke, VA. Her volunteer work with a doctor at Fairfax Hospital and her desire to help people inspired her goal to become a physician.

After graduating from Lake Braddock High School, Dr. Elbert completed impressive education credentials at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville including a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with Distinction, a medical degree and an Internal Medicine residency.

After pracitcing medicine in Madison, VA and Locust Grove, she joined Colonial Internal Medicine Associates to offer her patients the stability of a larger medical group and focus on primary internal medicine. She has special professional interests in geriatrics and diabetes mellitus.

Dr. Elbert lives with her husband and 4 children in Fredericksburg. She enjoys gardening, needlework, hiking and spending time with her family.
